6-Year-Old Creates Non-Profit Foundation to Feed the Homeless

Most kids will read a book like “One Boy’s Magic” by Cari Chadwick Deal and mimic the boy’s powers with their own magic wand during play. But not Paris Williams. After reading about how the character in Deal’s book used his powers to feed the homeless, Paris decided to put her own powers to work.

After being inspired by books she was reading at school, Paris and her mom brainstormed about ways they could help the less fortunate, and often forgotten, in the area where they lived. Not only did they hand out care packages, which Paris packed herself, she included a personalized note or picture for each recipient. Though the items inside may cost only a few dollars, the human connection Paris creates is priceless.

Paris, her mom, and a growing number of supporters have been able to pack and deliver more than 500 care packages with food and other necessities to people in need in the St. Louis downtown area. They have also provided around 250 meals to essential workers.

Paris has big dreams about helping in other ways and spreading her reach even farther. If you would like to help Paris feed the homeless, donations can be made directly to Paris Cares Foundation, or you can purchase Paris Cares masks and T-shirts via her Bonfire Account.
